Where there’s smoke (or a mystery video), there’s flame. Alt-shake duo Twenty One Pilots return today (July 11) with two new tunes, “Jumpsuit” and “Nico And The Niners.” The previous is the lead single of the band’s up and coming fifth LP, which is called Trench and drops on October 5. Simply don’t expect another pop-contiguous offering like “Worried” or “Ride.” This finds the band at their most coldhearted, singing about an otherworldly jumpsuit and a legendary city, over a sprawling generation that undulates between semi-acoustic and hard shake.
The video goes far to clarifying (or offering setting to) the representation in the tune, which is by all accounts about lead singer Tyler Joseph’s battle with wretchedness. The clasp is a wide range of epic, playing like an emotional reboot of Lord Of The Rings. Not surprisingly, given the gigantic achievement of Blurryface, the tune is making immense walks on iTunes (it’s as of now sitting at number two) and the video is as of now piling on huge numbers.
